Privacy Policy

This policy is a draft under review. It describes what this website actually does today. The passages that were previously left open have been filled with conservative defaults, so that a reviewer has something concrete to correct rather than a gap to fill. Those defaults have not been approved by ISAPZURICH or checked by a data-protection adviser.

Who is responsible

The International School of Analytical Psychology Zurich (ISAPZURICH) operates this website. This policy explains what personal data the site collects, why, who it is shared with, and what rights you have.

For any data-protection request, write to that address marked Data protection, or email office@isapzurich.com with Data protection in the subject line. Requests are handled by the school office; no separate data-protection officer has been appointed.

What we collect, and why

When you browse the site. Our host records standard server logs. We measure how the site is used with two tools: one that sets no cookies and collects no personal data, and one that does. The second, together with advertising measurement on our counselling site, loads only if you accept it in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.

When you contact us. The contact form sends us your name, your email address and your message. It is delivered as email, and the site does not store it.

When you subscribe to the newsletter. The newsletter link in the footer takes you to Mailchimp's own hosted signup page. Your subscription is held by Mailchimp under their terms; this website never receives or stores your email address for that purpose, and it cannot see who is on the list.

When you buy access to a lecture. We record your name, your email address, what you bought, the amount, and a payment reference. Card details are never seen by, or stored on, this site: the payment happens on our payment provider's own pages. We use these records to send you your confirmation, your access link and, if you bought one, your confirmation of attendance, and to keep our own accounts.

When you have a portal account. Students and analysts sign in to a portal. We hold the name, email address and password you set, and the profile you maintain there: your contact details, and for a public profile your biography, credentials, photograph and publications. Students' records also carry the administrative details the school keeps, such as student type, enrolment status, student number and cohort.

When you enrol or register through the portal. We record what you submitted: the semester, the courses you chose and the order you ranked them in, when you submitted it, and the outcome.

When a student refers a client to the counselling service. The details are emailed to the studies department and are not stored on this website.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We pass it to the following service providers, only as far as each needs it to do its job.

Several of these providers are based outside Switzerland, including in the European Union and the United States, and may process data there. Where that is the case, they do so under their own standard data-transfer terms.

How long we keep it

Purchase and payment records: ten years. Swiss accounting rules require business records to be kept for that long, and a record of a payment is a business record.

Portal accounts, and the enrolment and registration records attached to them. For as long as you are a student or an analyst of the school, and afterwards as part of the school's academic record. A former student's record is kept deliberately: it is what lets the school confirm a qualification years later. You can ask us to delete an account, and we will unless we are required to keep it.

Contact-form enquiries. These reach us as email and are kept with our other correspondence. We delete them once the enquiry is closed and there is no further reason to hold them, normally within twelve months.

Server logs. Kept by our host under its standard log rotation, and used only for running and securing the site.

Analytics. The cookieless tool holds no personal data at all. Google Analytics data is held for the retention period set in that account.

One thing worth stating plainly: the website deletes nothing automatically. The periods above describe how these records are managed, not a process that runs on its own.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, and object to how it is used. Portal members can change most of their own details at any time under Profile. For anything else, write to the address above.

Cookies and external media

The cookie banner offers three categories. This policy uses the same names, so that what you agree to and what is described here cannot drift apart.

Essential. Required for the site to function (session, your consent choice). Always active.

External media. Embedded third-party content: Instagram posts, and the Google Maps panel on the contact page. Loads scripts and cookies from the provider.

Analytics & marketing. Google Analytics, and on our counselling site the Google Ads conversion measurement. Helps us understand how the site is used. Loads scripts and cookies from Google.

Before you choose, only the essential category is active. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.

Two things load without waiting for that choice, and neither sets a cookie. The typefaces the site is set in are served by Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address on every page. Inside the signed-in portal, the student and analyst calendars are supplied by AddEvent, which receives your IP address when a calendar loads.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when what we do changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
